It took Jennifer Warnes five years to construct a follow-up to Famous Blue Raincoat, and she again came up with some excellent covers, including Todd Rundgrens Pretending To Care and The Waterboys The Whole Of The Moon, that may have been new to her listeners. And she got a song from Donald Fagen (Big Noise, New York). She also did some of her own writing and had participation from her old boss, Leonard Cohen on Way Down Deep. Produced by Elliot Scheiner, The Hunter, like Famous Blue Raincoat, enjoys masterful recording technique and now the incomparable Cisco Music treatment.

This release is sadly the end of the road for the Cisco label, who worked closely with Jennifer to ensure quality throughout this release. Larry and David (of Cisco) have carried on where Cisco left off, with their newly formed Boxstar Records, although theyve yet to let on whether they plan any further Jennifer Warnes releases.
