After a handful of songs appeared on various British folk compilations, singer Anne Briggs made her full-length debut with 1969s startling ANNE BRIGGS. These 10 tracks are strictly traditional British folk tunes like The Cuckoo and Blackwater Side, all but one of them performed entirely a cappella. This Water Records reissue contains no bonus material, but the careful remastering makes Briggss pure, warm voice sound as if shes singing in the same room as the listener.
