This is Bethany from Best Coasts debut solo record
After every disaster, there is an opportunity to rebuild and start again and that is exactly what Natural Disaster is for me as an artist, as a woman, and as Bethany Cosentino. A record about struggling with disaster in the everyday and leaning on love to save yourself, whether that be the love of a romantic partner, love in the form of radical self-acceptance, or love of the planet you live on. This album was born out of a sort of identity crisis, and on the other side I discovered a softer, more feminine version of myself, ready and willing to push through the discomfort of growing pains.
Inspired by Sheryl Crow, 90s Country, Lilith Fair, and living through a pandemic and the daily fear of a worsening climate crisis, this record is me like no one, including myself, has ever heard me. Bethany
