Once more a pristine vinyl cut from a previously unreleased band. This is the debut single from 4 piece lo fi scuzzy pop outfit Trecco Beis, on limited edition hand numbered translucent blue vinyl 7 (limited edition of 500).

We discovered Trecco Beis on the recommendation of various members of the wonderful Y Niwl, purveyors of finest Welsh surf rock and backing band to no other than the ever advancing Gruff Rhys.

A four piece, they all arise from Swansea / Neath. Theyre all now in London, some of them are actors, others are . The first time we saw them live we utterly fell in love with them, a madcap mixture of 60s harmony, melody and Sonic Youth esque fuzz guitar. Theyre like Gorkys Zygotic Mynci if they borrowed their guitars from the Sonics. Its a bit like if the Boo Radleys (Giant Steps era) sang the Lilys Nanny in Manhattanin Welsh accents.

This is their first single, and follows on from a number of home recorded demos. Hummingbird has such ability to knock a listener sideways, Green Man booked them after just one listen.

Hummingbird is an ode to beauty. Luke wont tell us who she was but its a wonderful mixture of Byrds Harmonies and the Sonics guitars. Sofia brings up the best psychedelic moments from Giant Steps, with slabs of Fender Jaguar Fuzziness. It sounds a bit like Big Leaves (we love big leaves). We guarantee youll be hooked with one listen.

This single follows on from their appearances at Dim Swn, Focus Wales and Green Man festival in 2015. The band will be appearing at Focus Wales and Machynlleth comedy festival with more dates to follow. (And anywhere else if you fancy booking them!!)
