Description
Fleetwood Mac were formed in 1967 by guitarist Peter Green after leaving John Mayalls Bluesbreakers. Taking Mick Fleetwood and John McVie with him, Green named the band after the rhythm section to ensure its survival beyond his own tenure. Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan soon joined, completing a formidable early line-up. Signed to Blue Horizon, the group began with a sharp-edged take on the blues before moving into timeless rock songwriting and instrumental mastery. Though Green led the band for less than three years, his impact was profound. This collection, first issued in 1971, gathers the defining tracks of his era, including Albatross, Black Magic Woman, Oh Well and Man of the World.
