Description
Two Fingers is Amon Tobins electronic hip hop side project.
Amon Tobin has sold over half a million records and built a reputation as one of the most pre-eminent electronic musicians of his generation. He has a large and loyal fanbase.
Through his collaborations with everyone from The Kronos Quartet to Ryuchi Sakamoto to Philip Glass, on into his filmscore work and his innovative sound design for videogames, Tobin has become a byword for breathtaking originality.
Amon has incorporated Two Fingers branding into his critically acclaimed ISAM live show his DJ set in the show will consist of Two Fingers tracks and the Two Fingers logo will be incorporated into the visuals (a stunning multi dimensional / shapeshifting 3D art instillation surrounding Tobin and enveloping him and the audience in a 3D experience through projection mapping).
The 3LP is heavyweight blue vinyl with download codes and printed triptych inner sleeves and die cut outer.
Stunt Rhythms is about beats and bass. The model for the album comes from Fools Rhythm (included in the LP), one of the standout tracks from Ninjas 20th anniversary XX boxset, an infectious mixture of playground melody, sharp beat and thunderous bass.
Amon views Stunt Rhythms as his love letter to hip hop. Tracks like Snap could be said to literally break down classic hip hop to its constituent components and put them back together in completely new shapes, while the more uptempo tracks like Razorback come on like a whole new soundtrack for an as-yet-uninvented future poplocking.
