Toodles & The Hectic Pity are a beloved folk-infused punk band from Bristol who have been making music together through the first half of their 20s. Toodles write snappy, percussive punk songs with rich vocal melodies. Their lyrics are crafted with subtle literary hints and playful turns of phrase, tucking existential themes into catchy refrains that cry for sing-a-long. Far from pretentious, their live show is full of contagious energy and enthusiasm. Lyrically, Ghost, Guilt & Grandparents is an exploration of loneliness, anxiety, and the nature of familial relationships through time. Despite handling heavy themes, the five song EP is uplifting, carrying you through irresistible, pop riffs and into the beautiful, long build intro of Mountain Man, the EPs closing track. Produced, recorded live, and mixed by Tim Rowing-Parker at ActionTrack Studio, and mastered by Ed Hall at All Silk Mastering House. Toodles 2017 debut EP Call In Sick received praise across UK independent music journals with reviews calling them Indie punk at its finest. This three piece from Bristol came out of nowhere to put out what is in my opinion the best folk punk release of the year. (Colins Punk Rock World) and saying Their sound, which takes the gentler side of punk without losing the importance of what they are trying to say, is clever and well-balanced.
