‘The Magician’s Birthday’ is the band’s fifth studio album. It was recorded in London’s Lansdowne Studios in 1972. Gerry Bron was responsible as producer.

At the time, Uriah Heep consisted of David Byron (vocals), Gary Thain (bass), Lee Kerslake (drums and percussion), Mick Box (guitar) and Ken Hensley (keyboards, guitar and Moog synthesizer).

‘The Magician’s Birthday’ comprises a total of eight tracks, including the singles “Spider Woman”, “Sweet Lorraine” and “Blind Eye”.

New deluxe edition with two CDs. All eight songs were remastered for the new edition in 2017. The deluxe double CD also includes a bonus CD with a total of 15 alternative versions
