Acknowledged as one of the finest musicians that the British Isles has ever produced, and with a career that dated back to the 1960s, there were few musical genres that Gary Moore had not turned his adroit musical hand to. Gracing the line-ups of several notable rock bands Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II and (the original) Skid Row, in his time he also established himself as a world-class guitarist, with few equals. The late-70s and early-80s were characterized by Moores restless search for the best musical settings for his talents. He explored his Celtic roots on 1987s Wild Frontier which was dedicated to former Thin Lizzy bandmate Phil Lynott who passed away the year prior. The pinnacle of his 80s output, the 8-track set is steeped in Irish imagery and passionate performances, and is home to the epic hit single Over the Hills and Far Away.
