Description
London label Xtra Mile is known primarily for metal, hard rock and post hardcore, but theyre not afraid to let their artists explore new songwriting ground and release the troubadour within. Most notable is Frank Turner, who these days is just as likely to turn up on the Cambridge Folk Festival bill as he is at Download with a hardcore band.
In similar fashion, PJ Bond spent the noughties knocking about in New Jersey punk bands, but with his 2009 solo debut, PJ took all his influences and poured them into some infectious punk fused Americana thats consolidated in his brand new LP Where Were You. Theres echoes of the ramshackle genius of Golden Smog and The Replacements, Big Star, and plenty of Eagles, but presented with a modern relaxed approach to songwriting that puts him firmly in league with Ben Kweller, Sons Of Bill or Pete Molinari.
