Description
Forming in 2008, Pond is a psychedelic-rock band hailing from Perth, Australia. Beards Wives Denim is the bands fourth album and their first release for Modular Recordings following-up Psychedelic Mango (2009), Corridors of Blissterday (2009) and Frond (2010).
Beard Wives Denim was recorded in a ramshackle old farmhouse in Western Australia. The band members piled into the house with ten friends, all their equipment, amplifiers, instruments, and pets, and lived in their house-cum-studio for two weeks.
The 13-song set is an audio diary of the bands strange, terrible and blissful time in the country trying in vain to be a wholesome family band. It sounds just like it, distorted and woozy and fractured and ultimately nostalgic and loving. Mixed by Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) and Rob Grant at Poons Head Studio in Perth, Australia.
