she was back with second solo album, Naughty. Re-teaming with producer Arif Mardin, the vocalist sounds even more assured and adventurous on the 1980
collection, which was cut at New York’s Atlantic Studios with such instrumental aces as bassist Anthony Jackson and Average White Band guitarist Hamish
Stuart in support-not to mention backing vocalists including future superstars Whitney Houston and Luther Vandross. Highlights include club favorite
“Clouds” (one of two Ashford & Simpson-penned songs here), “Too Much Love” and the hit single “Papillon (a.k.a. Hot Butterfly).” Naughty delivers all the funk,
