2008’s ‘New Amerykah Part One’ was the first of a planned triptych of thematically linked albums from Erykah Badu. Although it was followed by a sequel in 2010, the third part never came to fruition. Soulful, easy-going and commercially accessible, it charted well in the States and spawned the singles ‘Honey’ and ‘Soldier’.
