Description
Recorded in Brixtons Cold Storage Studio in 1985 during a time of political unrest around the world, this is an instrumental album from Gaughan (guitar) and Hyder (drums), All the tunes are dedicated and inspired by various figures such as Nelson Mandela on Political Prisoners; Sharpeville 85 is about the massacres that took place there in the early 1960s; News from Nowhere is based on a book by William Morris. The music was spontaneously created in the studio and was partly a musical departure for Dick Gaughan and is therefore fairly challenging for the listener, who might be expecting something a little more akin to Handful Of Earth. Nevertheless its a worthy reissue, and in stock now for a modest.
