He is known for the hit song “Madalena,” which he provided to Elis Regina in 1970, and “Love Dance,” which has been covered by many jazz musicians such as Kenny Burrell, Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter, Nancy Wilson, and George Benson. Modo Livre is his fourth album, featuring mainly his own compositions and showcasing his talents as a songwriter. In addition to Caetano Veloso, Waginer Cizo, and Hoberthinho, MPB legend Arthur Verocai also participates on guitar and arrangements.
