Description
Ultravox were one of the pioneers of early 1980s electronic music, with ground breaking singles and pop videos such as Vienna, The Thin Wall, The Voice and Dancing With Tears In My Eyes. They released five Top 10 albums before taking an extended break. They reformed in 2009, later releasing their most recent LP Brilliant in 2012.
Released in 1984 and produced by the band themselves, Lament was their fourth album with Midge Ure on vocals and went on to sell over 100,000 copies in the UK. It included three Top 10 singles: One Small Day, Lament and the worldwide hit Dancing with Tears in My Eyes.
This new vinyl was cut from the original ¼ production masters by Alchemy Mastering. We are pressing the sleeve to replicate the original 1984 design by Peter Saville using a Black Carabic 350gsm card with a spot gloss varnish.
Alongside the vinyl editions, a newly re-packaged version of the 2009 Remastered Definitive Edition is now being reproduced in an 8-Panel Digipak, available in Black Carabic 350gsm card with a spot gloss varnish to replicate the original vinyl artwork, plus an expanded 12 page booklet containing lyrics and band photos.
