Live at The Troubadour is a live album by James Taylor and Carole King, originally released in 2010. In November of 1970, the two rising stars first performed together at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. Thirty-six years later, James Taylor, Carole King and members of their renowned original band The Section (featuring guitarist Danny Kortchmar, bassist Leland Sklar and drummer Russell Kunkel) returned to the Troubadour for a three-night, six-show run to celebrate the venues 50th anniversary. These historic moments are documented in Live at The Troubadour. The remarkable recording features 15 songs and 75 minutes of stunning performances of their collective biggest hits including Youve Got A Friend, Fire and Rain, I Feel The Earth Move and more.

The album debuted at #4 in the US, giving James Taylor a top 10 album every decade since the 1970s and Carole King her first top 10 album since 1976.

The album is now available for the first time in HiRes and on vinyl (2-LP set on 180g vinyl pressed at Quality Records Pressing).

Carole King

Carole King has written the template for transitioning from a behind-the-scenes songwriter into a full-fledged star. Starting her career in the 60s as one of the staff songwriters at Brill Building and helping to elevate artists including The Shirelles and The Monkees, she soon would move on to become a solo breakthrough artist. King is now one of the most successful female songwriters of the latter half of the 20th century in the US, having written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

King has made 25 solo albums during her career as a singer-songwriter, the most successful being Tapestry, which held the record for most weeks at #1 by a female artist in more than 20 years. She is also a four-time Grammy Award winner and was inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for her songwriting. Her works have shaped multiple generations of confessional singers as wildly distinctive as Tori Amos, Amy Winehouse and Adele.

James Taylor

Born in Boston and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, James Taylor captured the collective comedown of the U.S. at the end of the 60s with gentle, understated folk that he created in Californias famed Laurel Canyon. While the subject matter of his songs may not always be as soft as the sound of his fingerpicked guitar tracks, Taylors name itself will always be known to conjure something uplifting and calm.

Arguably one of the best-selling music artists of all time, Taylor has sold over 100 million records worldwide and is a five-time Grammy Award winner. After achieving his breakthrough in 1970 with his #3 single Fire and Rain, he released 1971s recording of Youve Got A Friend (written by Carole King) which soared to #1. Since then, he has gone on to produce a top 10 album every decade. He is well known for his hit covers How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) and Handy Man, as well as his originals such as Sweet Baby James.
