Seasick Steve,all-new live record, from Jack Whites Third Man Records. Third Man is releasing live records from The Shins, The Kills and blues legend Seasick Steve, all recorded, without any overdubs or editing, in Third Mans Blue Room in Nashville last October, using the direct-to-acetate recording method. They were mixed in real time on a Rupert Neve 5008 console by Grammy-winning engineer Vance Powell, and cut instantly to 12-inch vinyl using a 1953 Scully Lathe formerly employed by Cincinnatis King Records.
Nobody, but nobody, rocks a Diddley Bow like Seasick Steve, and every nuance was captured in this direct-to-acetate recording. No edits. No overdubs. Just Seasick Steve in all his glory that fateful night in October.
