Mage Tears is a Toronto based solo musician from the UK who captures the most delicate side of the lo-fi/bedroom genre. Recording everything by herself using her phone, she has curated a simple yet beautiful DIY sound with her soft vocals, nylon-string guitar and theremin-like synth. Her gentle songs are a combination of sadness and hope, most often being described as nostalgic and bittersweet – lyrics of memories, experiences and random thoughts written down; melodies of brighter days to come and finding the good in the bad. Since the rising number of videos and posts across the internet using songs from her first album ‘cats in the cold’, mage tears has quickly grown in listeners over the last few years, becoming a new comfort artist to many. Her songs, alongside her cozy artwork and videography, are a safe place to stop and rest for a while.
