Iarmhaireacht is the second EP from Irish noise-rock outfit Nerves, released via Blowtorch Records and again produced by Dan Fox of Gilla Band. Across five coruscating tracks and three spoken-word interludes, the band sharpen their blend of abrasive guitar noise, post-punk tension and spoken-word intensity.
Following their acclaimed debut, Iarmhaireacht pushes deeper into the band’s stark emotional terrain — channelling an existential sense of isolation, the loneliness that comes from watching friends and loved ones leave for greener pastures, and the destructive coping mechanisms that can follow. Fierce, uncompromising and deeply human, Nerves continue to establish themselves as one of the most compelling voices in Ireland’s new noise-rock underground.
