Description
Boundary-pushing artist and producer Sarasara returns with her captivating second album Orgone, via One Little Indian Records. Brooding lead single, Blood Brothers swells with a foreboding intensity, co-produced with Liam Howe of labelmates Sneaker Pimps (who has worked on albums by Nülifer Yanya, FKA Twigs, Tom Vek, Lana Del Rey). Her latest body of work sees her explore further her unique breed of of leftfield, avant-garde RnB, singing in her mother tongue, French, and dealing with suicidal thoughts, existentialism and meditation.
The enigmatic artist found peace through meditation, faith, and learning how to live in the present a theme that runs consistently through Orgone. She sings about vulnerability, accepting yourself, and surrendering to things we have no control over. She says this was a lesson I had to learn the hard way. She moved across the water from Paris to Margate at the beginning of 2018, and the record was written there, featuring collaborative tracks with her neighbor,Peter Doherty of The Libertines. One evening, he knocked on my studios door, we had a lovely time and recorded Tinkertoy, then he said I was a siren and he ran away.
Experimental, distinctive, and yet unmistakably Sarasara Orgone moves effortlessly through moods and layers of textured sound with tenacity to stay true to itself yet veer from the path-most-trodden. It is this resolve that sees Sarasarastand apart from the crowd.
