Originally released in 1985, the album expanded his sound into rich psychedelic realms and yielded four major singles: the kaleidoscopic Raspberry Beret, overseas favourite Paisley Park, the sleek funk of Pop Life, and the politically charged America. The double CD and triple LP versions feature bonus material including the remix of Paisley Park along with the extended version of Girl and Hello (Fresh Dance Mix) and the nearly 22-minute 12 version of America.
