Over the weekend Modest Mouse surprised a small group of fans by sending out a test pressing of a double-A side 7 of their new single, Lampshades on Fire, along with a letter that confirmed their first album in eight years: Strangers to Ourselves out March 3 on Epic.

Since playing Coachella in 2013, the group headlined Fun Fun Fun Fest and re-released their critically-acclaimed albums This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About, and The Lonesome Crowded West, on Glacial Pace. Both earned Best New Reissue ratings from Pitchfork, with The Lonesome Crowded West earning a perfect 10/10 score.
