Demos, Alternates and Rare Tracks from the Long Out of Print Swamp Music: The Complete Monument Collection CD Box Set Available on Vinyl for the First Time; 180g 3LP-Set with Updated Artwork and Deluxe Tri-Fold Jacket Packaging
An influential musician in the 60s and 70s swamp rock scene, the late Tony Joe Whites music is as primal as a lizards backbone. It echoes from the magnolia groves and bayous of his Louisiana childhood, and looms into the present every time the molasses and tanned-leather combination of his guitar and voice was unleashed. White himself said that the foundation of his music came from hearing blues singers play guitar with maybe just a harmonica or stomping their feet for accompaniment. You may or may not be overly familiar with The Swamp Fox, but we all know his two most famous songs Polk Salad Annie and Rainy Night In Georgia. ROG curated all the demos, alternates and rare tracks from his long out of print 2006 Swamp Music: The Complete Monument Collection CD box set and created a new 3LP collection with updated artwork. A compilation of recordings made for the Monument label in the late 60s/early 70s, all of the tracks are making their debut on vinyl, including several previously unreleased. Pressed on triple 180g vinyl LP packaged in a deluxe tri-fold jacket.
