Written in the wake of the death of the Duplantier brothers’ mother, it channels grief, loss and renewal into something musically extraordinary — heavy and precise, but deeply emotional at its core.
Produced and mixed entirely by the band themselves, Magma strips back some of the technical complexity of earlier records in favour of a more focused, atmospheric sound. Stranded and Silvera are among the most immediate tracks Gojira have ever written, while the album as a whole moves with a weight and intention that few metal records can match.
